SHOE SIZE
Before any purchase, make sure to always measure the babys foot with a feet measuring device that should be readily available in most shoe stores. Kids feet have a reduced sensitivity to pain and pressure. Therefore, children are at risk to wear too short or badly padded shoes.

Childrens shoes must be 10 to 15 mm longer than their toes. About half of this free space at the tip of the shoe, called an overcap, serves as a reserve for the toes’ free movement while walking and another half is essential for the growth of the feet.  It is advisable for a child to try the whole pair of shoes. Observe whether the shoe is not slipping from the heel. Placing pressure at the tip of the shoe is not an appropriate way to test the size of the vercap. A child tends to reflexively bend his/her toes. Check the size of the shoe at least once every 3 months. This is especially important for changing shoes that the child takes to school and uses for the whole school year. School shoes/sandals must be replaced at least twice a year.
